Kate Wilhelm

Kate Wilhelm has spent a writing career successfully straddling multiple genres. She has built fan bases for her science fiction, mysteries, fantasies, and family sagas. In between she's written radio and stage plays and comic novels.

Her more than 30 novels have won 3 Nebulas and one Hugo and been nominated for those two awards numerous other times from 1966 through 1995.

Born in 1928 in Toledo, Ohio, Wilhelm married fellow writer, the late Damon Knight. Together they helped form the Clarion Writer's Workshop and the Milford Writer's Conference.
